You can easily set up choke points where you have some defenses. You should think about secondary defenses in case your killbox get overrun.Or just put enough space between each so that they can blow up without damaging the others and most importantly : your colonist. If one goes boom because of mortars or anything, then everything will blow up. You should encase your mortars in walls, the same goes to your shells.Same goes for anything you want to get rid of. I find it better/easier than letting it disappear for so many time. That way you can burn them without risking burning your base. You should move the rotting bodies stockpile outside your base or in your killbox. Will prevent someone from walking to the other's bedroom to eat in the morning. I would suggest replacing those with a sculpture (to keep the same impressiveness of the room if that's needed) and put the table and chairs in the common room of the bedrooms. Really a small detail but i can see a few bedrooms with a table and a chair. And when you will start to turn your pawn into machines it is mandatory so you don't loose your pawn with surgery failure. It will be really useful later in the game. It is probably a good idea to invest in one close to your killbox. Since you're looking for remarks, here are a few to get your colony a bit better. Research speed will increase with cleanliness of the room - put some sterile floors in your lab (kitchen will also benefit from cleaner floors) When researched, build hospital beds (with vitals monitors, sterile floors etc.), and designate storage nearby for some sort of medicine, so your doctor has it at hand during emergencies. Sooner or later, you'll get the 'zzzt' event, or some colonist will randomly decide to light it on fire, and it will destroy your whole stockpile.ĭon't overdo it on stored stuff - more wealth means stronger raids It's better to designate special room for shells, chemfuel, grenades etc. Once you research them, build autodoors - especially in highly frequented rooms like workshops, storages, or rec rooms.ĭon't store explosives with the rest of your stuff. Alternatively, grow some crops there instead. Separate turrets by walls, so that they don't chain-explodeīuild floors under wind turbines, so that trees don't randomly pop up and ruin your energy production.
